About
Allah Wali Jheel lies at the far end of Perishing Valley, near the town of Gotamsar, about a 45-minute drive from Astore. It is one of the oldest and best known tourist spots in Astore Valley. Its name comes from a remarkable natural feature: a river winds through a wide, zigzagging channel across green fields, and when seen from a high point, the shape resembles the Arabic script for Allah. The fields are enclosed by tall mountains and offer a calm, pretty setting. The open meadows around it are also used for picnics, walks, and games, making it a popular family destination close to Astore.
