• Road reports. When you submit a blockage or clearance report we store the route, location, status, description, timestamp and any photo you upload. If you choose to add your name or phone number, we store that too — it is optional and used only so moderators can verify or follow up on the report.
• Account details. If you sign in, we store your email address and authentication identifier so we can associate your submissions with your account and apply reporter permissions.
• Messages. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply to you.

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools record general technical data such as IP address (in truncated or anonymised form where supported), browser and device type, approximate region, pages viewed, referring page and time of visit. This is aggregate usage data, not an attempt to identify you personally.

• To publish, verify, correct or reject road reports.
• To display accurate status information and timestamps to other travellers.
• To understand which routes and pages people rely on, so we can improve coverage.
• To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abusive submissions.
• To reply to enquiries about the site, advertising or partnerships.

We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf.

We also use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, including personalised advertising.

You can turn off personalised advertising at any time through Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, opt out of vendor cookies via optout.aboutads.info, or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not affect your ability to read road status information on this site.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not publish contact details submitted with a report. Photos and descriptions you submit may be published as part of a road update.

Reports and their photos are retained as a historical record of road conditions. Account and contact data is kept only while it remains useful for moderation and support. Data is stored with a managed cloud database provider using access controls that restrict submission details and uploaded files to site administrators.

You can ask us to delete your account, a submission you made, or a photo you uploaded. Email gbroadupdates@gmail.com from the address associated with the request and we will act on it within a reasonable period.

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
