About

From Fairy Meadows, a gentle walk through forest leads to Beyal Camp, a quiet meadow at roughly 3,500 metres with wide views of Nanga Parbat and the Raikot Glacier. It is calmer and has fewer visitors than Fairy Meadows itself. Beyond Beyal, the trail becomes tougher: it crosses moraine and the Chongra Glacier before reaching Nanga Parbat Base Camp at about 3,967 metres. Along the way, trekkers see Raikot Peak, Ganalo Peak, and the main peak of Nanga Parbat at 8,126 metres. The excursion from Fairy Meadows to the base camp and back usually takes a full day, or it can be done with an overnight at Beyal. It is one of the best day treks in Gilgit-Baltistan.
