About
Darkot Pass lies at the head of Yasin Valley and rises to roughly 4,700 metres. It connects Darkot in Yasin with the Broghil Valley in Chitral and crosses the Darkot Glacier, which runs for around 13 km on the Yasin side. The pass has a long history as a high mountain route between Yasin, Chitral, and the Wakhan region, and it remains one of the best-known high-altitude treks in this part of the Hindu Kush. Crossing Darkot Pass is a serious undertaking that involves glacier travel and a big altitude gain, and is meant only for experienced trekkers with proper equipment and support.
