Gupis Valley

Gupis is a key junction town in Ghizer, about 112 km from Gilgit, where the Yasin and Ghizer rivers meet. It connects the Yasin and Phander valleys and is close to the beautiful Khalti Lake.

About

Gupis lies around 2,176 metres above sea level on the Gilgit–Shandur road, about 112 km west of Gilgit. It is a crossroads for the region: roads lead north to Yasin Valley and west to Phander and Shandur. The Yasin and Gupis (Ghizer) rivers meet near here, creating a wide river landscape framed by mountains. Villages in the Gupis area, such as Pingal, Dahimal, and Jindrote, have fields and orchards along the water. Khalti Lake is only a short drive away, making Gupis an excellent base for exploring this part of Ghizer. The town has basic hotels, shops, and restaurants for travellers.
