Hundrap Lake (Handarap Lake)

Hundrap Lake, also spelled Handarap, is a high alpine lake in Hundarap Nallah, surrounded by rugged mountains and green slopes. It is known for trout fishing and is reached by a scenic trek from Hundarap village.

About

Hundrap Lake sits at around 3,280 metres in Hundarap Nallah, an isolated alpine area of Ghizer. The trail leads through open meadows and quiet mountain terrain, with rough peaks and green slopes surrounding the lake. The lake is known for its trout and for its cool, clear surroundings even in summer. Because it is off the main tourist routes, it is a peaceful place for camping, photography, and quiet time in nature. The trek from Hundarap village is manageable for walkers with basic fitness. It can be done as a short trip from Phander or Gahkuch, usually with a night of camping by the lake.
