About
Ishkoman Valley runs north of Gahkuch, about 50 km up the Karambar River, towards the border region with Afghanistan's Wakhan corridor. It is a deep, green valley with villages, orchards, and fields, rising to glaciers and high peaks at its head. The valley is connected to Yasin and to Chipursan in Upper Hunza by high mountain passes, which makes it a useful route for trekkers. It is also the road towards Karambar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. Ishkoman offers quiet beauty rather than crowds: river walks, glacier views, camping, and warm hospitality in the villages. It is a good choice for travellers who prefer undiscovered places.
