Firoza Lake, Naltar

Firoza Lake, also known as Blue Lake, is a small, striking turquoise lake in the upper Naltar Valley. Its water is so clear that pebbles and fish can be seen at the bottom, and it sits just beyond Satrangi Lake.

About

Firoza Lake, often called Blue Lake, is another jewel of the Naltar Valley. The name means turquoise, and the water lives up to it, with shades of blue and green that look almost unreal against the surrounding rocks and pines. The lake is small, very cold, and extremely clear. In calm weather the surface reflects the sky and the mountains perfectly, making it one of the most photographed spots in the valley. It lies a short way further up the gorge beyond Satrangi Lake, so the two are usually visited together. Experienced trekkers can continue higher from here towards the Naltar Pass and on to other lakes and valleys.
