About
Borith Lake lies in the Gojal region of Upper Hunza, a short distance from Hussaini and Gulmit. The lake sits on a high plateau above the Hunza River, surrounded by open land and sweeping mountain views, and is known for its calm water and wide-open scenery. The walk to the lake takes you through quiet village paths and dry mountain terrain, with views of the Passu Glacier and the peaks of the Karakoram opening up as you climb. Those who prefer not to walk can reach the lake by jeep. Birds gather around the water, and the stillness of the place is a sharp contrast to the busy highway below. It is a good spot for a picnic, a slow walk, and unhurried photography.
