About
Passu Glacier descends from the high Karakoram toward the green fields of Passu village, forming a striking contrast of white ice, grey rock, and bright farmland. Together with the Passu Cones rising above it, it creates one of the great landscapes of Upper Hunza. A walking trail from Passu village leads to the snout of the glacier. The hike is less demanding than most glacier treks, and it gives close views of the ice, moraines, and meltwater streams. Viewpoints along the way let you see the glacier stretching back into the mountains. For travellers who want a gentle introduction to the Karakoram wilderness without a multi-day trek, Passu Glacier is one of the best choices in Hunza.
