About
Hoper Glacier, also called Bualtar Glacier, begins beneath Bualtar Peak and flows down towards the valley floor. From the village of Hoper, you can see a wide expanse of ice, rock, and mud sweeping down the mountain, far larger than most glaciers visitors have seen before. The glacier meets the Barpu Glacier in the valley, and together they form part of the access routes to Rush Lake and the Hispar Muztagh range. Walking trails from the village lead along its edge, offering safe views for visitors. Hoper Glacier is easily reached by road, which makes it one of the best places in Nagar to experience a large Karakoram glacier without a long trek.
