Minapin Valley

Minapin is a village and valley directly beneath Rakaposhi and Diran, the starting point for the Rakaposhi Base Camp trek. Its old settlements, green terraces, and the Minapin Glacier make it one of Nagar's most scenic places.

About

Minapin lies at the foot of Rakaposhi in Lower Nagar, about an hour from Karimabad. Terraced fields, orchards, and old stone houses spread across the slope, while the Minapin Glacier flows down the valley above the village. The village includes an old settlement known as Khan, said to be around 500 years old, and viewpoints looking at Rakaposhi, the Pisan Glacier, and the Karakoram Highway. Miacher Kho, a high viewpoint, is reached by a jeep track from here. Minapin is the main trailhead for the Rakaposhi Base Camp and Diran Base Camp treks, and it offers local guesthouses and homestays that give a quiet, authentic base for exploring Nagar.
