Sikandarabad lies in Lower Nagar, on the Karakoram Highway, in a mountainous setting near the base of Rakaposhi. The village is spread across terraces and fields along the highway, and the mountains rise steeply on both sides. Directly across the valley from Sikandarabad lies the Himalaya range, which makes the village a good place to appreciate the meeting of mountain systems around Gilgit. For travellers, it is mainly a relaxed roadside stop and a convenient base for exploring the lower Nagar valleys, including Chaprote, Ghulmet, and Pisan.
