About
Hidden deep in the mountains above Ghulmat Valley, Window Meadows is one of the least-explored trekking destinations in District Nagar, Gilgit-Baltistan. The journey to the meadow takes approximately three days and passes through breathtaking alpine landscapes, lush meadows, rocky mountain trails, and panoramic viewpoints. What makes Window Meadows truly special is its incredible view of Rakaposhi, one of Pakistan's most iconic peaks. From different points along the trek, especially at Window Meadows, visitors can enjoy two to three unique angles of Rakaposhi, offering some of the finest mountain views in Nagar. The trek is divided into three main camping bases. The first stage is relatively easy and suitable for most hikers with basic fitness. However, the trail between Shahshabaran Base Camp and Mushk Meadows is significantly more challenging, featuring steep, rocky mountain sections that require careful footing and experience. The final section leading to Window Meadows is comparatively easier, and every step is rewarded with breathtaking scenery that makes the effort worthwhile. Due to its remote location and untouched beauty, Window Meadows remains an ideal destination for hikers, campers, landscape photographers, and travelers looking to experience the hidden side of Nagar beyond the usual tourist routes.
