How to reach

Route: Skardu City → Katpana Cold Desert → Katpana Lake → Chunda Valley The valley is reached by a short drive from Skardu via the Katpana area. Local jeeps and taxis are available, and the upper viewpoint is reached by a rough track or a walk.

Traveller tips

Use a 4x4 for the upper track. Go in the morning or late afternoon for the best light. Carry water, snacks, and warm clothes. Ask locally about the current road and path conditions. Respect the villages and fields. Combine with Katpana Desert on the same trip.
